Steve Vann also known as Steve Victory was born on the 11th of April 1989, Rockford, Illinois, USA. Son of an eighteen-year-old mother at the time of his birth and a father who left 7 months before, never to return, Steve spent his early childhood being shoved back and forth from Rockford, Illinois to Memphis, Tennessee. He settled on the Eastside of Rockford when he was 9. Switching schools every four to five months made it difficult to make friends, graduate and to stay out of trouble. Being a rap fan for most of his life, Steve began rapping at the early age of 10. Rhyming words together, venting from everything that he was dealing with in his life brought joy to what was otherwise a painful existence.

At the age of 15, he began to get very serious about his rapping by working a full time job trying to raise enough money to purchase a studio, he got paid daily and every time after work he would go put more money down on different studio equipment, but it wasn't until he was 17 that he actually made a name for himself, becoming Steve V, which he would later respell as "Steve Victory". After failing the 9th grade twice in a row, he quit school, but remarks that he doesn't consider himself stupid and doesn't advise that people should follow his example. He says that it just wasn't for him, he had felt like rapping was the only thing he thought about during school and would get in trouble for writing rhymes in the classroom. He says he felt like school was just a backup plan for a regular job witch that's not what he wanted to do, he knew what he was put on this earth to do and that was to entertain people. When Steve turned 17 he was tired of nothing happening with his music so he got anxious and started calling major labels rapping on their voicemails, not long after that, renowned manager Tommy Quon also CEO of Ultrax Records called Steve and told him he liked his style and wanted to fly him down to Dallas, Texas to cut a few tracks, a short time after that Tommy Quon was flying to Steve's hometown to sign a management contract. Steve then began working on his album entitled "Struck By Lightning" inspired by his teenage heartbreak, with lots of support from some big producers and other major rap and R&B artist he came out with a great solid first album that would soon let everyone know who Steve Victory is and what he is about. It is only a matter of time before Steve Victory is a household name.
